High Fiber Fall Snacks

September 3, 2019

School is back in session, and days are getting shorter. This means that fall is right around the corner! What better way to welcome the change of season than with some delicious and nutritious fall snacks? These healthy autumnal treats are not only delicious but will also help you get closer to your daily fiber goals:1

Stuffed Apple with Steel-Cut Oatmeal
After you take your Instagram pics at the apple orchard, try this twist on a classic fall favorite. Apples and oatmeal are both great sources of fiber. Boil 4 cups of water with 1 cup of steel-cut oats. Add a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. Turn the heat to low and cook covered oats for 20 minutes. Core an apple and funnel the oatmeal into the middle. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees, making sure the apple is tender. This is sure to be your new fall favorite, fueling your body with fiber and filling your home with the sweet smell of baked apples!

Pumpkin Yogurt Dip
Nothing says fall quite like the taste and aroma of pumpkin! This superfood is a tasty way to add more fiber into your diet. Combine a half can of pumpkin puree and a half cup of non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt. Next, add in a teaspoon of honey, and some cinnamon and nutmeg. Get out your graham crackers and apple slices and dig in!

Almond Butter and Pumpkin Seeds Rice Cake Spread
Peanut butter is delicious, but if you’re looking for a healthier alternative, almond butter could be just the ticket! Almond butter actually contains more fiber, iron, and vitamin E than peanut butter, and is just as yummy! Try spreading some on a crispy corn cake or a caramel rice cake. Add a half cup of pumpkin seeds and a dash of cinnamon for an added autumnal (and fiber-ful) touch.

Enjoying these easy, high-fiber fall snacks will not only keep your family happy but also add some much needed fiber to everyone’s diet. Consuming more dietary fiber can help normalize bowel movements, lower cholesterol levels, maintain a healthy weight, and control blood sugar levels.2 Fiber Choice® dietary supplements are an easy way to help you close the Fiber Gap™.
